Orange Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting

*ingredients:

• To prepare the brownies:
• 1 cup unsalted butter
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 4 large eggs
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 3/4 cup cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 1 tablespoon orange zest
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
• To prepare the cream cheese:
• 8 ounces soft cream cheese
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 4 cups powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

directions:

• Preheat oven to 175°C and grease 9″ x 13″ pan.
• In saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and allow it to cool slightly.
• In bowl, whisking sugar and egg until well blended. Add the melted butter and mix until well blend
• In bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and mix until just combined.
• Add orange zest, vanilla extract and orange juice until well blended.
• Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes
• Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
• To make cream cheese, in a large bowl, whisking cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well until well blended.
• Spread frosting over cooled brownies also refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving.
